Sunday, Funday

Day 5--Panama City Beach, FL

It's Sunday and thanks to the wonders of the internet we were able to find a church fairly close and so we donned our Sunday best and headed to church.  This is a new experience for my kids--we haven't made it a practice to go to church while vacationing--but it was good for the kids to see that it's the same everywhere.  Josh was even tapped to pass sacrament since they were short on guys.

After church, we came home, changed and dragged the kids to the beach.  Seriously, I have never heard so much whining going on.  But once we got there, they were totally fine.  We told the kids not to get in the water, but it mostly fell on deaf ears.  There were rip current warnings in effect and at one point the lifeguard came by and made everyone get out of the water.  It wasn't the most pleasant of weather--pretty windy--but it was still nice.  I could sit on the beach all day and just watch the waves.  A little piece of my soul belongs at the ocean.

There was a special devotion at 4:00 at the church and so we headed back for that.  Then talked to a few of the local members for a while.  Came home, ate dinner, did laundry, cleaned up, and then just sat and relaxed for the rest of the evening.  It's been a great break!
