Such a Rough Life

Day 10--Kill Devil Hill, NC

Before we could play we had to clean out the van. That included the rooftop carrier will all our wet camping gear. What a pain!

My kids LOVE the beach.  It's all they want to do.  Which is a shame because we are not a sun-tolerating kind of people.  We burn fast. Sunblock doesn't work. Our eyes get sensitive.  Our ancestors did not pass along any great Beach gene.

But my kids are undeterred.  So they dragged me out there bright and early.  I was on edge waiting for Wade to show up, so it was good to have the distraction.  After a few hours, we came back and Wade was asleep in bed!  They had flown the red eye to get to us and they were all sleeping but at least he was here!  I've missed him SO much.

After lunch, we went back to the beach for the rest of the afternoon.  It was so relaxing though the water is a little bit colder here than Panama Beach and the sand is not nearly as nice.  It's still the beach though.

For dinner, the kids ate pizza and Wade and I went with Heather and Brett to a local restaurant.  Wade and I split an entrĂ©e so we could justify the desserts that we were obviously coveting.  I had key lime pie and he had apple crisp.  They were SO good.

All in all, a fun and relaxing day.
